This week kicks off with a return to an old chestnut: Twitter. John doesn’t want too many things to check, and Merlin finds some therapy. The distinction of the “muffle” is highlighted.
This week’s mini-topic concerns the new Google Calendar UI. Merlin thinks there’s just too much clicking, and John would like some better information density. The influence of old Mac habits is explored, leading to a nostalgic visit to the bygone, halcyon days of using a Macintosh. The sad and downward history of TV interactions also comes up. John wonders why intertitles make typey noises, and Merlin has no problem identifying LONDON.
In an unintentional mini-topic, your hosts talk about kids going to camp and wonder about the unintended consequences, both positive and negative. Merlin thinks about everything as a project, and John has updates on Daisy, who is increasingly going rogue.

Muffles are a powerful way to hide certain users, links, hashtags, or keywords from your timeline. The best way to think of them are like lighter versions of muting. Muffling does not remove filtered tweets from your timeline entirely, but instead minimizes them, out of the way of your reading experience. Muffled tweets appear as a single line in your timeline, with a short description of what has been hidden. This lets you to scroll through your filtered timeline while still allowing you to interact with filtered tweets if you wish.
